Stop and Listen

What day of the week is it? When will things get back to normal? When will the basketball goal be put back up? When will we be able to go outside and play just like we use to everyday? When will we be able to do the simple things again? When can we just give someone a simple hug? It is hard to have HOPE in the climate that we are in right now.

What if we stop just for a second and ask the question ” What do you see?”. Take a moment and listen “What do you hear?”. I was working out in my yard this weekend and the tree was swaying back and forth from the breeze. I stopped for a second just to watch and I heard baby birds chirping. A momma bird was feeding her two babies in my neighbor’s palm tree. It was such a beautiful sight and such a great reminder of the simple things that we can still enjoy. Sometimes life moves so fast that we forget that there is still goodness in the world amongst all the fear.

In this “new” normal that we are in, it is easy for us to feel discouraged, frustrated, anxious, and overwhelmed. I, too, have felt all of these. There are so many that are hurting. Let us be like the momma bird and feed hope into others. Let us stop and listen. Show Jesus to others with kindness and patience. Remember what Jesus has done in the past and what He is still capable of today! Acts 2:25-26 “‘I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest in hope,
