Overview
Every child deserves a quality education, is capable of learning, and should have their full potential realized.
We believe in building partnerships between school, home, and community with one goal in mind:
the best possible education for each individual child. The Tutoring Program launched in
2020 as we discovered the need to support our students in virtual schooling,
but it has evolved into much more.
What We Do
Our model is to have tutors work side-by-side with students to build relationships while also strengthening reading skills. Students are paired with a tutor for one-on-one skill-building for reading. Each session, students participate in an individualized reading lesson on their Chromebook through iReady and work with their tutor to build reading fluency and comprehension within individualized lesson-plan binders.
Our Impact
Through our Tutoring Program, we determine how to best meet each student’s academic needs.
Over 75% of our scholars are consistently passing their lessons at high rates and spend at
last an hour a week reading. Over 85% of our students grow at least one grade level by the end
of the year, with many jumping as far as two grade levels.
