Every child deserves a quality education. We believe in building partnerships between school, home, and community with one goal in mind: the best possible education for each individual child. When a child receives academic support, there is no limit on their ability to learn. Every child is capable of learning, and we desire to see their full potential realized.
The tutoring program launched in 2020 as we discovered the need to support our students in virtual schooling, but it has evolved into much more than that! Students are paired with a tutor for one-on-one skill building for reading. They begin their time with an individualized reading lesson on their Chromebook. Then, they work with their tutor to build reading fluency/comprehension through either reading buddies, personalized skill-building lessons, or homework help. We implement a program called i-Ready as a tool to determine how to best meet each student’s academic needs. Having tutors work side-by-side with the students helps build relationships while strengthening reading skills.
