About
Neighborhood Hope
Neighborhood Hope is a Charlotte based nonprofit committed to bringing hope and opportunity to under-resourced neighborhoods through the love of Jesus. We believe lasting change happens through relationships, presence, and consistent investment in people. By walking alongside kids and families, we seek to meet both practical and spiritual needs while encouraging dignity, growth, and belonging.
We serve communities through programs such as tutoring, Connect Nights, summer camps, and career and life skills development. Our volunteers and staff work directly within neighborhoods to build trust, mentor youth, and support families as they pursue stability and purpose. Everything we do is rooted in faith and guided by a desire to reflect Christ’s love in tangible and relational ways.
Our Mission
To be a village of hope and opportunity through the love and life of Jesus.
We Believe
In loving God, loving our neighbors, and being empowered by the Holy Spirit.
We want to be the literal hands and feet of Jesus in the communities we serve.
We Envision
We envision thriving communities in Charlotte where churches, individuals, and businesses are collaborating together to invest in the beautiful neighborhoods that are so often overlooked. We aim to see holistic healing occur mentally, physically, and spiritually so families in these neighborhoods can live the stories they were always meant to live.
Empowering Communities
Our goal is to integrate into each community, form bonds, understand needs, and build relationships. We recognize the unique needs of each community and approach this process with care and respect. Our desire is to love our communities well and provide opportunities and essential resources.
“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple:
Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
Be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
take God seriously.”
— Micah 6:8 (The Message)
The Hope Model: Our Core Pillars
Doing life within a community is beneficial for neighborhoods and mentors. Being together and learning culture is so important to the success of our mission and to the success of our community.
Many kids have been let down by empty promises. In our communities, consistency is key to earning trust. At Neighborhood Hope, we understand the importance of following through on our commitments. Once trust is established, we can connect individuals with the necessary resources for growth and development.
Time=Love. Good parenting begins with being available. Spending time with kids allows us to capture teachable moments. When we begin to “do life” with kids, we learn from each other, which leads to growth and maturity.
Every child deserves unconditional love, regardless of their past or where they grow up. Love has the power to transform their lives.
