Luke Nzuzi, 20, a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, has been involved with the Basketball program since 2013. On Wednesday nights you can usually catch him joking around or wrestling with someone. He has been a part of the many changes that the program has taken since then, but he is a constant, always there with a smile and a “whats up my G?”.
After Luke graduated High School in 2017 he continued to be a part of the basketball program. He stepped into a new role as a student leader and this is where he thrived. He used his knowledge and experience of life to talk to the younger participants and pour into their lives. Luke was a leader both on and off the court challenging his team during the game and leading their small group after.
Luke attributes this desire to be there for the younger generation to Josh Meadows and the connections that he has opened up for Luke. At the Man Up conference in 2018 Josh connected Luke with a man who works in finance and investment banking. They had a conversation, exchanged information, and the relationship began to grow. Luke is still in contact with this mentor to this day. Luke will be attending UNC Greensboro in the fall majoring in Finance.
