Someone to Believe In

When I was a little girl, I had dreams of becoming a brain surgeon and finding the cure to cancer. My parents made me believe that I really could so I fought hard to make my dreams happen even though they continued to change throughout my childhood. Obviously both of those things didn’t come true, but I had parents instill in me throughout my life that they absolutely could.
When I started the health initiative, it was because Jesus told me explicitly that the only way I could help teach young women to find their worth was to do it the way I was taught. I learned my worth through nourishing my body well, but the only way I would have gotten to the place I was in my life was because I had people to cheer me on while I was learning and when I couldn’t believe in myself, they would.
I want my community, The Neighborhood Hope community, to believe that their dreams can come true, too. Even when life is throwing a million punches, they deserve someone cheering them on every step of the way. I’ve learned in my time in this community that everyone has a dream. Every single kid, mother, father, drug dealer.. you name it. They have a dream. Sometimes the only thing holding them back from achieving that dream is someone to believe in them when they don’t believe in themselves.
YOU could be that person who believes enough for them and walk along side of them so that they can take real steps towards that dream. We challenge you to join us in walking hand in hand with individuals and believing FOR them.
